Isa Cultural Centre (ICC) issued a statement mourning the passing of His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Executive Director of the Centre, the Chairman of board of Trustees of King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence.
The statement as follows: “With great sadness and sorrow, we received the news of the passing away of our leader, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Khalifa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Executive Director of the Center.
The Bahraini, Gulf, Arab and international historical, cultural, social and humanitarian arena has lost one of its prominent figures, known for its humanitarian, humbleness and love for good deeds, supporting youths, and making tremendous efforts and sacrifices to uphold and raise the name of the Kingdom of Bahrain internationally.
He was a national symbol distinguished by his thought, knowledge, of the issues of the region, and he was a faithful historian preserving the legacy of his country and the nation, as he wrote several valuable articles and books that reflect his knowledge of historical, political and economic aspects on the one hand, and his wide interest in culture, intellectuals and society on the other hand, which was The fruit of his life.
Shaikh Khalid was distinguished by an enlightened past in the field of academic and sovereign works, in which he exerted great efforts in establishing and running several scientific and cultural projects and edifices in the Kingdom and abroad, which, over the years, have become one of the greatest achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its cultural reputation.
He also had great contributions. In various branches of humanitarian, voluntary, charitable and social work, and his high confidence in the element of Bahraini youth and their capabilities, which revealed the humbleness, love and paternity distinguished by this man, stemming from the originality of the values that he inherited from his fathers and forefathers.
We at ICC extend to the family of Shaikh Khalid and all members of the honorable royal family, headed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the people of the Kingdom of Bahrain with our deepest heartfelt condolences and sincere feelings of sympathy.
