The National Archives at Isa Cultural Centre (ICC) participated in the annual conference of the International Council of Archives (ICA), in Rome, entitled (Archives: Bridging the Gap).

Dr. Safaa Al-Alawi, Director of the National Archives at ICC, First deputy-Chair of the Arab Council of Archives "Arabica", headed Bahrain’s delegation. The conference attended by more than 600 participants representing national archives institutions in various countries of the world.

The conference agenda included number of meetings and assemblies of specialized professional committees, in addition to the General Assembly meeting of the ICA members. The conference also included panels and workshops. The meeting of the Global Forum of National Archives Centers, of which Bahrain is one of the founders, was also held during the conference.

Through ICC’s National Archives, Kingdom of Bahrain has been Category (A) member of the ICA since 2016.
